«Arbat» Pedestrian Zone №1
Arbat Pedestrian Street is a modern promenade located in the heart of the city. The area features fountains, flower-lined walkways, street art installations, cultural events, and a gastronomic zone offering both traditional and contemporary cuisine.
The «Arbat» pedestrian zone is one of Shymkent’s unique public spaces, reflecting the city’s modern image and serving as a place for recreation and leisure for residents and visitors alike. For anyone wishing to experience the rhythm of contemporary urban life and enjoy its atmosphere, this location is one of the city’s key attractions.
«Arbat» was officially opened on December 1, 2018. The 500-meter-long pedestrian zone stretches from the intersection of Beibitshilik and Respublika avenues to Al-Farabi square. The space harmoniously combines modern architectural solutions with an aesthetically pleasing urban environment.
One of its most recognizable architectural features is the illuminated arch spanning the pedestrian area. The arch is adorned with twelve angel sculptures symbolizing the twelve months of the year and the continuous flow of city life.
Decorative fountains and floral arrangements create a special atmosphere for walking and relaxation.
The area also features a gastronomic project designed for residents and visitors. Twenty-five restaurants offer a variety of dishes at affordable prices.
Today, the «Arbat» pedestrian zone is not only a recreational area but also a modern cultural space that brings together social interaction, creativity, and urban culture.
