A.S. Pushkin Library

The Pushkin Library is one of the oldest cultural and educational institutions in the city, having been established in 1899. The library is known for its extensive collection of books and its modern services for readers and researchers.

The A.S. Pushkin library is one of Shymkent’s oldest cultural and educational institutions, with a history spanning more than a century.

It was established in 1899 on the initiative of local historian N. Lykoshin to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.

Over time, the library was modernized and transformed into a contemporary cultural center providing readers with a wide range of information services.

Today, the library is located on Kazybek Bi street in a building that previously housed the Regional History Museum, emphasizing its cultural continuity.
